Muskoka Wedding

We shot Jeff and Carly's wedding at the Trillium Resort and Spa on June 27th. It was fun going back to Huntsville because that is where Rich and I thought we were going to start our business three years ago. We even stayed in the same hotel we stayed at when we first checked it out as a place to settle down in. It was also fun shooting Jeff and Carly since we felt like we knew them a bit better than usual. Not only had we shot their pre-wedding photos but we'd seen them a few times in Panama at Heather and Dennis's wedding. There were a great couple and up for all our suggestions, including taking off their shoes and socks and dangling their feet in the water - they even suggested getting in the canoe for some photos. WPPI Accolade of Excellence

The WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) is one of the, if not the foremost photography association for Wedding and Portrait photographers. If you're interested you can read more about here. One of the many things they do is run competitions which are include 8x10 print competitions.  There are run twice yearly and photographers from around the world enter their images to be judged by other photographers.  It's a nerve racking experience putting your work up to be judged by your peers.  3 of our entries were judged to be worthy of an Accolade of Excellence, which we are very proud of.  Here are the 3 entries that qualified for the accolade.

This shot was taken of Michael in the limousine that was taking him to the church. Michael and Carina were married in Brampton last summer and live in New York.

This is Jeremy and his groomsmen.  Taken outside of the Westin Hotel in The Village at Blue, Collingwood. This was the only wedding last year where the rain fell heavily for most of the afternoon.  We got this shot shortly before the rain arrived.  Megan and Jeremy were married at the fabulous Georgian Bay Golf Club.

This picture of the rings by Christa was our highest scoring image.  These belong to Katie and Carlos who were married at Blue Mountain.  They live in Edmonton and have recently become parents for the first time.

Dana & Rob's Wedding Day

Dana & Rob had a charmed wedding at in Mississauga on June 20th. Although it rained during the ceremony (which was inside a church) by the time we got to Credit Valley Golf Club it had stopped raining and the light was nice and soft. I heard from other wedding photographers that they got soaked that week-end, so we were lucky. We got to speed around the club in golf carts and get photos on the beautiful bridges. It was nice to see a wedding service performed by Rev. Heather of All Saints' Church in Collingwood where my mother works (although the service was in Mississauga) and she was as great as we thought she would be. Inside St Peters Church we got made use of the window light for some unique photo opportunities. Dana and Rob made us feel so welcome, we felt like we'd known them for years. I found myself taking pictures through tears a few times during the speeches in the evening. Click here to see photos from their day.

Shannon and Matt's Pre-Wedding Workshop Shoot

Last week we had a great afternoon with Shannon and Matt.  We hadn't met Matt before as he's studying for an MA in something complicated down in the US.  Anyway we had a lot of fun shooting in and around Collingwood. Here's a few of our favourites from the workshop. (Click on the image below to see more photographs)

Michelle & Steve's Wedding Slideshow

We've been away for a week traveling the wild North of Canada, which explains the lack of posts here recently. If you'd like to see some photographs of us from our trip then head here.  But I digress, the real reason for this post is to let you know that Michelle & Steve's slideshow is ready. It was a wonderful day and we got some great images. Even if we say so ourselves! If you click on the image it will take you to the slideshow.  Enjoy.
